Indianapolis, Ind.- The UIC men's basketball team will attempt to make its first trip to the Horizon League Tournament title game in four years when it takes on No. 12/14 Butler in a semifinal contest at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Saturday evening.

The fourth-seeded Flames (18-14) and the top-seeded Bulldogs (27-3) will tip-off at 6:30 p.m. EST/5:30 p.m. CST.

Adam Levinson and Denny Wills will call the game live on WIND 560 AM. The game will also be televised live on ESPNU, with Jim Barbar and Comcast SportsNet and WGN Radio personality David Kaplan donning the headsets.

UIC is making its first semifinal appearance since the 2003-04 season, when it beat Butler inside Hinkle Fieldhouse behind the one-two punch of Cedrick Banks (22 points) and Armond Williams (10 points, 12 rebounds) to advance to the Horizon League Tournament title game.

The Flames have won three in a row and four of their last five.

UIC has held the potent Butler offense relatively in check during their two meetings this season, holding the Bulldogs to over eight points under their season average (68.4 ppg) at just 62.0 points per game. But the Flames have scored just 51.5 points per game against Butler during those contests.

Rebounding has been an advantage for UIC during its tournament run, as the Flames have outrebounded Youngstown State and Loyola by an average margin of 15.0 rebounds per outing.

Rookie Robert Kreps has averaged 10.5 points per game off the bench in UIC's two tournament wins this year.

UIC has made a living at the free throw line of late, shooting an average of 25.0 foul shots in its last four games. The Flames are shooting 77.0 percent (77-for-100) from the charity stripe during that span.
