UIC Athletics Asks For Student Input

Sept. 15, 2008

UIC Athletics is taking on a daunting task: gauging the interest in athletics of students. All female undergraduates will be receiving an electronic invitation to complete a brief survey of interest - as a spectator or participant - in a range of sports. The survey is administered electronically with the assistance of the Survey Research Laboratory.

Students will receive an electronic invitation to participate in the survey through their UIC e-mail address. Students who submit the survey by the survey submission deadline of October 3 will be eligible for a drawing to receive one of several UIC Flames items.

UIC strongly encourages the students who receive the survey and wish to express their interest in UIC's sports program to take the opportunity to respond to the survey. Where students have been notified but they have not responded, the lack of response will be counted as a lack of interest.

"The survey will assist us in planning for the future," reports Tonya McGowan, Associate Director of Athletics. "We know it is a huge undertaking to gather information from this many students, but we hope all who receive the survey will respond."

For more information about the survey, contact Tonya McGowan of UIC Athletics at tmcgowan@uic.edu.
