CHICAGO- The UIC men's basketball returns home to host Horizon League foe Valparaiso at the UIC Pavilion this Thursday, Jan. 15 at 7 p.m. Central.
Fans can warm up during the wintry weather in the Windy City as the Flames (8-7, 1-4 Horizon League) and the Crusaders (5-12, 2-4 Horizon League) lock horns inside the new-look Pavilion by calling the UIC Athletic Ticket Office at 312-413-UIC1 or by walking up to the UIC Pavilion Box Office to secure their seats.
The game will be broadcast live on 560 AM WIND, with Adam Levinson calling the action and UIC great Kenny Williams adding analysis. Fans can also view the game on the Horizon League Network.
Thursday's game is the first of two straight home contests for the Flames against conference competition from the Hoosier State. This Saturday UIC hosts No. 17/18 Butler (14-1, 5-0 Horizon League) at 1 p.m. Central in a nationally-televised contest on ESPN2.
The Flames will seek to snap a four-game skid, and there's no place better to do that than the Pavilion. Despite losses in the last two games on its home court, UIC is still a strong 16-5 at the Pavilion since the start of last season.
UIC features the Horizon League's leading scorer in senior guard Josh Mayo (18.6 ppg) and the league's top rebounder and shot-blocker in senior center Scott VanderMeer (8.9 rpg, 2.9 bpg).
