Women's Gymnastics Defeated By No. 12 Ohio State

CHICAGO - The UIC women's gymnastics team returned home after spending two weekends on the road, hosting No. 12 Ohio State on Saturday afternoon.

While the Flames put up season-high team scores on the bars and the beam, UIC was bested by OSU, 194.850-192.050.

DeAvera Todd was the lone event winner on the afternoon, taking top honors on the balance beam with a career-best mark of 9.875. The junior was also the runner-up on the floor (9.800) and finished third on the vault (9.775) for a fifth-place finish in the all-around standings.

Zandre Labuschagne matched her season-best on the bars, earning a 9.700 score for third place in the event.

UIC returns to action when they host Western Michigan on Saturday, January 31 at 5 p.m. at the PEB.
