CHICAGO- UIC senior guard Josh Mayo (Merrillville, Ind./Merrillville H.S.) is featured in the Jan. 12 issue of ESPN The Magazine.

In a piece entitled "Bidding Wars" on page 61, writers Matt Giles and Jeff Dooley state that one "would be hard-pressed to find a player with a purer stroke that Mayo's" while calling him the Horizon League's player to watch down the stretch.

The Horizon League was also considered one of three conferences on the rise, with schools like UIC (road wins over Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech), Cleveland State (road win over Syracuse) and Butler (road win over Xavier, Top 25 ranking) making national noise.

Mayo is the Horizon League's leading scorer at 19.5 ppg. He also leads the conference in three-pointers made (43) and three-pointers made per game (3.3).
