CHICAGO- UIC Athletics has signed a multi-year agreement with RCN Corporation, the two sides announced on Monday, Dec. 14.

RCN is a leading provider of high-speed internet, digital cable TV with high definition and unlimited phone service.

The partnership allows UIC to gain exposure for its athletic programs through RCN's cable system. RCN will have a significant presence at all UIC athletic events.

"UIC Athletics is proud to partner with RCN," said UIC Director of Athletics Jim Schmidt. "We look forward to teaming with an innovating industry leader that maintains such a strong presence in Chicago."

Beginning December 18, RCN subscribers will have access to exclusive content such as Flames men's and women's basketball games in addition to highlights and interviews from other sports through RCN's Video ON DEMAND service.

"As the hometown triple play provider, I am excited to announce our sponsorship of UIC Athletics," said Tom McKay, senior vice president and general manager of RCN Chicago. "We are happy to support the Flames and showcase their games to the entire UIC community."

RCN customers with a digital box can watch select games whenever they want, as many times as they want, with RCN's ON DEMAND service by going to channel 001 and selecting RCN TV.
