CLEVELAND - The UIC women's tennis team closed out the weekend in Ohio with a 6-1 victory over Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon.
The Flames (10-6, 5-0 Horizon) were unable to capture the doubles point against the Vikings, but dominated singles play, sweeping all six matches.
Elena Antakova's match at the fourth position clinched the match for the Flames, as the junior bounced back after a first set loss to defeat Jackie Tabb, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2 to keep UIC undefeated in league play.
"The girls did really well today," said head coach Shannon Tully. "They played very focused on the road. It was a solid win."
UIC closes out the regular season with a trio of league opponents at Flames Courts next weekend, starting with Valparaiso on Friday at 3 p.m.
