AURORA, Ill. - The UIC women's tennis team defeated Northern Illinois on Saturday at the Fox Valley Tennis Center for their second straight win.
The Flames took the match 6-1, winning all three doubles matches and five of the six singles matches to earn the victory.
In doubles play the UIC team of Zlatka Petrova and Elena Antakova won their match with ease, taking the match 8-1.
Mariya Kovaleva picked up where she left off last week, defeating NIU's Kathryn Friedlund in straight sets (6-0, 6-3).
Illinca Cristescu, Kristen McPhillips, Antakova, and Petrova all won their singles match to earn points in Saturday's win.
UIC returns to action when they travel to Evergreen, Ill. to take on the University of Chicago on Sunday Jan.31 at 9 a.m.
