CHICAGO- The UIC men's basketball team will face Evansville in the eighth annual BracketBusters event on Saturday, Feb. 20, ESPN announced today.
Game time is tentatively scheduled for 7:05 p.m. Central at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, Ind.
The Flames (5-16, 1-10 Horizon League) and the Purple Aces (6-15, 0-11 Missouri Valley) will square off for the first time since the schools played a home-and-home series swept by UIC in 2003-04.
UIC is 3-1 all-time against Evansville.
UIC has participated in every BracketBusters event since its inception in 2002-03. The Flames are 6-1 in BracketBuster games overall and 1-1 in road BracketBuster contests.
This will be the third team from the Missouri Valley Conference that UIC will play in 2009-10. The Flames faced Illinois State and Southern Illinois earlier this year.
In addition to common foes in the Redbirds and the Salukis, UIC and Evansville have both faced Horizon League-leading Butler this season.
Coverage of the game is slated for a live radio stream on ESPNChicago.com. More information on radio coverage details to come.
