CHICAGO- The second game of the annual crosstown series between the UIC men's basketball team and Loyola takes place this Saturday, Feb. 13 inside the Gentile Center at 7 p.m. Central.
The Flames (6-18, 2-12 Horizon League) will seek to even the score against the Ramblers (13-11, 4-10 Horizon League), who narrowly won the previous meeting at the Pavilion in January.
Saturday's game, the 44th all-time meeting between the two Chicago squads, will air live on Lakeshore Public Television and can also be viewed online via the Horizon League Network and ESPN360.com.
The radio broadcast of the game featuring Adam Levinson and Denny Wills will be streamed live on ESPNChicago.com.
The Flames have turned it up offensively, averaging 73.0 ppg in the last four games and coming off a season-high 82-point showing at Valpo on Monday.
Senior Jeremy Buttell continues to excel putting the ball in the cup and taking it off the glass. He is averaging 17.0 ppg and 8.6 rpg in the last 10 games, and he posted his second double-double in the last three games with a 25-point, 12-rebound effort against the Crusaders.
Junior guard Robo Kreps enters Saturday's game needing just six points to become the 20th member of UIC's 1,000-point club. Kreps has 994 career points.
The last 10 games between UIC and Loyola have been decided by an average margin of 6.3 ppg, and seven of those 10 outcomes featuring six points or less separating the two teams.
