TOLEDO, Ohio - The UIC women's tennis defeated Toledo 6-1 on Saturday at the Laurel Hall to extend their winning streak to three matches.
The team of Ilinca Cristescu and Amy Jellish clinched the doubles point for the Flames, winning their doubles match in a tiebreaker 9-8(5).
In singles play, Mariya Kovaleva won her fifth match of the season with a come from behind win over Martina WodzinskI 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
Jellish defeated Silvia Carvajal in three sets, after losing the first set 4-6 the Willow Springs native took the second set 6-1 and finished the match off with a 7-6 (5) tiebreaker win in set three.
Zlatka Petrova, Elena Antakova, and Cristescu took from wins in their singles matches, winning in two straight sets.
UIC travels to Bowling Green, Ohio to take on Bowling Green on Sunday Feb. 21 at 10 a.m.
