CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team bested Youngstown State 7-0 on Saturday at the UIC Outdoor Courts to win their 117 straight match against a Horizon League opponent.
The Flames went three-for-three in doubles play, giving UIC the one point advantage heading into singles competition.
Ilinca Cristescu remains undefeated in conference play for her career, taking down Lauren Hankle in two straight sets. Cristescu took set one with 6-1 victory, and then wrapped up the match with a 6-4 win in set two.
Jenna Reisch won her fourth straight match, beating Hannah Patten 6-4 in set one and 6-1 in set two, securing the point for the Flames.
Amy Jellish allowed just three games in her two set match win over Nicole Haralambopolous. Jellish closed out set one with a 6-2 win and secured the point with a 6-1 victory in set two.
Mariya Kovaleva, Kristen McPhillips, and Elena Antakova rounded out the day for UIC winning their singles matches, as the Flames went six-for-six in singles play for the third time this season.
UIC will host Horizon League foe Cleveland State on Easter Sunday at the UIC Outdoor Courts. The match is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
