CHICAGO - The UIC volleyball team fell in straight sets (16-25, 13-25, 21-25) to Valparaiso Friday at the Flames Athletic Center in Chicago, Ill. Junior Kelsey Safranek (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) led all players in the match with 14 kills.

The Flames (12-8/5-4 in the Horizon League) dropped their second match up with the Valparaiso (15-8/6-3 in the Horizon League) team this season.

In addition to Safranek's 14 kills, redshirt junior Aubrey Sniegowski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont Township), redshirt junior Janise Dismuke (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) and freshman Molly McCoy (St. Charles, Ill./Wheaton Academy) added four kills for the Flames. Redshirt junior Nicole Allgood (Crestwood, Ky./South Oldham) hammered down five kills in the match.

The Flames return to action Monday in a 7:00 p.m. (CT) match against Eastern Illinois at the Lantz Arena in Charleston, Ill.
