INDIANAPOLIS - The UIC volleyball team (14-11/7-6 in the Horizon League) dropped to Butler (12-13/8-5), 3-0 (21-25, 10-25, 23-25) Saturday inside the Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Sophomore captain MaryKate Imrie (Orland Park, Ill./Sandburg) logged a double-double as she earned 13 digs, while dishing out 29 assists.
Junior Kelsey Safranek (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) led the Flames with 11 kills.
Redshirt junior Janise Dismuke (Peoria, Ill./Richwoods) earned nine kills on the night, while sophomore Aubrey Sniegowski (Lemont, Ill./Lemont Township) and Nicole Allgood (Crestwood, Ky./South Oldham) added five kills in the match.
The Flames dropped 21-25 in the first set and 10-25 in the second set. With the Bulldogs at a 2-0 advantage, the Flames battled in the third set of the match, but fell 23-25 to drop the match 3-0.
The Flames return to action Friday in a match against Cleveland State at 6:00 p.m. (CT) in Cleveland, Ohio.
