CHICAGO - The UIC men's basketball team will play its final exhibition game of the 2011-12 season Tuesday night, when the Flames play host to Lake Forest College at the UIC Pavilion beginning at 7:30 p.m. The contest will be preceded by the women's basketball team taking St. Xavier at 5 p.m. CST.

UIC is coming off last Wednesday's 61-45 win over the University of Chicago in the exhibition opener. Junior Gary Talton led all scorers with 14 points, while seniors Dorian Tyler, Paris Carter and Daniel Barnes chipped in 10 points each.

The Flames out-scored the Maroons 28-16 in the paint, and forced Chicago into 23 turnovers. UIC shot 43.8 percent from the field and drilled four three-pointers, but had 14 turnovers against 11 assists.

"We tried to throw a bunch of combinations out there in the first exhibition game (against Chicago), and I think it served us pretty well," said head coach Howard Moore. "We wanted to get our team into some competitive game situations early on, and that's why we're playing two exhibition games as opposed to going with the scrimmage route."

Lake Forest returns all five of its starters from last season, including senior Travis Clark, a two-time First Team All-Midwest Conference selection. The Foresters were 12-11 overall last year and tied for fifth in the Midwest Conference with a 10-8 league record.

Tuesday's contest will mark the final tune-up for the Flames, who will open the regular season on Friday (Nov. 11) at Eastern Michigan beginning at 6 p.m. CST. Live audio for the EMU game will be available on ESPN Chicago (WMVP-AM 1000).
