Final Stats
No. 17 Illinois proved to be too much for UIC as the Flames were defeated 195.975-192.150 in a dual meet on Saturday evening in Champaign, Ill. Illinois is the third top 30 opponent UIC has competed against this season.
"Illinois was a little too tought for us tonight," said Head Coach Peter Jansson. "They definitely lived up to their ranking."
A few bright spots for the Flames were sophomore Chantel Turk and junior Andrea Skala. Turk placed third on the vault with a score of 9.800 and tied for third on uneven bars with Skala as the two posted a 9.725. Turk finished out the meet with a fifth-place performance in the floor exercise, scoring 9.800. Skala ended the meet with a 38.600 in the all-around competition, which tied for third.
"Chantel and Andie had a really solid meet," said Jansson.
The Flames will gear up for a dual meet with No. 12 Arkansas on Sunday at 1 p.m. C.T.
