CHICAGO- Lucky's Sandwich Co., a proud new sponsor of UIC Athletics, will present the Lucky's Eating Challenge, for both amateurs and professional eaters, Friday, Sept. 16 during the UIC Soccer Classic presented by the Chicago South Loop Hotel.
The first challenge will begin at approximately 6 p.m. and will pit 10 amateur eaters against one another in a race to see who can be the first to polish TWO of Lucky's signature sandwiches. This will be a variation of the challenge as seen on the popular Travel Channel show, Man vs. Food. The first person to devour the pair of colossal creations will walk away with a $300 gift card from Best Buy. The contest is open to anyone, but limited to 10 participants.
Fans are encouraged to come out to Flames Field, which is located behind the Physical Education Building at 901 W. Roosevelt Rd., at 6 p.m. to enter their name into a lottery from which the participants will be selected. And if you're not picked, don't worry, because Lucky's is also providing food to the first 100 fans that simply show up! A group of professional eaters will also appear on Friday.
With questions, or for more information, please contact Assistant Director of Marketing, Casie Sullivan, at 312-355-1330 or via e-mail at csulli7@uic.edu.
Lucky's newest location is located just down the street from Flames Field at 717 W. Maxwell St. in Chicago.
On the pitch at the UIC Soccer Classic Friday, Wisconsin will take on Drake at 5 p.m. and the Flames will host SIU-Edwardsville at approximately 7:30 p.m. The action concludes Sunday, Sept. 18 when the Badgers and SIU-Edwardsville square off at 11 a.m. UIC and Drake will wrap things up with the final match at 2 p.m.
