CHICAGO - Head baseball coach Mike Dee, his staff and the current team are calling all former Flames to come out to Les Miller Field on Saturday, September 17 for the UIC Baseball Alumni Game and Reunion.
A full day of camaraderie and baseball is on tap for former players of all generations. The day will begin with Golden Flames batting practice 1:00-1:45 p.m. Then at 1:45 p.m. the alumni game participants will take to the cage for a few rounds of batting practice before the game itself starts up at 2:15 p.m. While the game continues on the diamond, at 3:00 p.m. the fun continues with live music and refreshments for the alums. Dinner will be served at 4:00 p.m. and the baseball alumni will all be recognized at 5:00 p.m. The day does not end there, however, as the refreshments will continue to flow into the night.
Of course, you do not have to play in the game to attend and socialize with the Flames.
"This special event is about reconnecting with your teammates and even connecting for the first time with players from a different era, including the team today," said Dee. "Coach Sean McDermott and I will be entering our 14th season at UIC, yet we have not had the opportunity to meet with so many of you who pioneered and built the program up to what it is today."
If you'd like more information or to RSVP, please contact assistant coach Sean McDermott at 312-355-1757 or via e-mail at smac@uic.edu.
