2011-12 UIC Men's Basketball Schedule
CHICAGO - UIC head men's basketball coach Howard Moore unveiled the Flames' 2011-12 schedule Thursday, a slate that features 14 regular-season home games, including five against in-state foes, and a complete, home-and-away Horizon League schedule.
The Flames will also play a total of nine games against opponents that garnered postseason berths last season, and take on four Mid-American Conference foes during non-conference play.
"I'm happy with the final make-up of our schedule; I think it accomplishes what we set out to accomplish," said Moore. "With a young team, we wanted to challenge our guys in some tough environments, prepare them for a grueling Horizon League schedule, and provide them an opportunity to gain some experience and confidence early in the season. I think we've set ourselves up to meet those goals."
The Horizon League announced its television schedule for the upcoming campaign on Tuesday - the Flames will play Butler (Jan. 19) on ESPN3, and be featured in the Horizon League Game of the Week on Feb. 11 at Loyola.

UIC will play three-of its final four games of the 2011 calendar year at the Pavilion, beginning with a Dec. 19 non-conference contest against in-state foe Western Illinois - the Flames and Leathernecks will be going head-to-head for the first time since the 1997-98 campaign.
