LEXINGTON, Ky. - The UIC baseball team had trouble controlling the undefeated Wildcats on Sunday afternoon as the Flames suffered a 20-0 defeat. The lone bright spot for UIC was sophomore catcher Alex Jurich who recorded two doubles on the day, accounting for the entirety of the Flames' offense. The dual two baggers are just the second and third of Jurich's young career.

"We got outperformed in every single aspect of the game," said head coach Mike Dee. "We are frustrated because it isn't a matter of talent, skill or understanding of what we need to do. We simply lack the determination to do those things repeatedly. We will go to work on fixing that in practice."

With the loss, UIC drops to 2-8 on the year as the Wildcats improve to an unblemished 11-0 mark

UK pitcher Corey Littrell was awarded the win as he tossed six innings, allowing two hits and zero runs while fanning seven batters. UIC right hander Matt Salemi notched his first loss of the season, lasting two innings and giving up five hits with runs.

The Flames kick off their home schedule this week as they host city-rival Northwestern for a three-game set beginning on Thursday at 5:05 p.m CT. Friday's game will also start at 5:05 p.m. while Satruday contest will commence at 2:05 pm.
