Nov. 2, 2015 CHICAGO - The UIC student organization SPARK (Students Performing Acts of Random Kindness) marked its one year anniversary on Sunday (Nov. 1) by helping the homeless across Chicago. The group joined with the tennis teams at DePaul and Chicago State for the outing.
"With the success we've had over the past year, we felt it was prudent to share our mission with other schools; in hopes that they will continue our work in other places," SPARK President and Founder Mitch Granger said.
The three schools provided a combined 35 volunteers to assist 75 homeless men and women. Coverage on the event will be aired this evening on WGN at 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. CT.
