CHICAGO -- UIC visited Green Bay Saturday afternoon in search of victory in its final Horizon League road match of the regular season, but the Phoenix collected a 3-0 (25-17, 25-17, 25-19) victory in its final home match of the slate.

The Phoenix controlled the first set from the opening serve as the Flames never led at any point in the opener. Green Bay scored three unanswered points to start the match and it remained in control throughout. Back-to-back aces by Jillian Bauer gave the Phoenix an eight-point edge at 21-13 and UIC never recovered as it fell, 25-17. The Flames hit .286 to Green Bay's .132 in the premiere stanza, but the Phoenix got seven service aces in the first set alone to help create the necessary distance.

UIC's Stephenee Yancy, who buried a career-high 33 kills Friday night at Milwaukee, picked up right where she left off Saturday by notching five more terminations on eight swings.

The lead changed hands five times in the second set and the visiting team held an 11-9 edge after Yancy blocked Green Bay's Emily Riese, but a 6-2 run that culminated with another service ace gave the Phoenix a 15-13 advantage, one that it would not relinquish as it moved to another eight-point triumph, 25-17. Yancy had five more kills for UIC, but only one other player, Kara Johnson, had more than one termination in the game.

After the intermission, UIC kept pace with Green Bay. The Flames trailed 13-8, but a three-point run that featured an ace from Tracy Friel, a block from Yancy and Alyssa Ehrhardt and another kill from Yancy made it a two-point contest yet again. The score was later tied at 18-18 when yet another Green Bay ace gave it the lead back once and for all. The match ended with Riese serving up her team's 13th ace of the afternoon to secure a 25-19 victory.

Yancy finished the match with 15 kills as she inches closer to netting No. 1000 in a UIC uniform. The Aroma Park, Ill., native has 989 for the Flames since 2014 after contributing 469 at her previous institution.

Kyisha Hunt produced the second-highest offensive output for UIC Saturday as she connected for six kills on 16 attempts with only one miscue (.312). Libero Bridget Powell was the lone Flame to notch double-digit digs as she picked up 11.

UIC returns home to the Flames Athletic Center on Friday, Nov. 13, to host the Cleveland State Vikings at 7 p.m.
