CHICAGO - Senior Gabrielle May has been named the Midwest Independent Conference Co-Gymnast of the Week for the period of Feb. 9-15, as announced by league on Wednesday. May earns the first MIC Gymnast of the Week title for UIC this season following a career-best all-around performance against Eastern Michigan this past Sunday.

In addition to her career-best all-around score (39.175), May also set a new career-best on floor, earning a second-place total of 9.875. The team's captain tied her career-high score on vault with a 9.825 to earn another second-place finish. May continued her success on beam, where she came away with third place and a score of 9.750.

The Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada native has been the Flames top all-around performer at every meet this season, taking first place overall in four meets thus far.

UIC will be back in action at the UIC Pavilion this Sunday, Feb. 22 for a dual meet against Michigan State. Events are set to begin at 2 p.m. CT.
