Detmer's Tournament Stats
CHICAGO -- At the conclusion of the 2015 Horizon League Baseball Championship, senior Tyler Detmer was named to the All-Tournament Team as announced by the conference office. Detmer averaged .571 from the plate during three tournament games and recorded his first career multi-home run performance.
The last time UIC placed members on the all-tournament team was in 2013 when Joe Betcher, Alex Grunenwald and Alex De LaRosa made the list.
Detmer went yard in his first two at-bats of the tournament and guided UIC an 8-5 victory against fourth-seeded Valparaiso in the Flames' opening game (May 21). The center fielder racked up three RBI and also crossed home plate twice in the win.
Detmer hit 6-for-9 and ripped two doubles in the remaining two contests and went 3-for-4 in his final collegiate game.
The four-year letterwinner and three-year starter ends his Flames' career with 197 hits, 120 runs, 103 RBI and a batting average of .321. His 40 career doubles ranks tied-for-10th on UIC's all-time leaderboard.
