Kei Ishimaru. As a sophomore, Ishimaru won the 200 fly at the 2014 Horizon League Championships. Last season, he picked up eight individual victories and placed third in the 200 fly (1:49.96) at the 2015 Horizon League Championships.
During the 2014-15 season, Ishimaru collected five wins in the 200 fly, two victories in the 100 fly and one in the 200 IM. He finished the year with 18 top-three finishes overall.
Ishimaru ranked third in the Horizon League for the 200 fly (1:52.70) and ninth in the 200 individual medley (1:52.67). Following three first place finishes against Green Bay, he was voted the Horizon League Men's Swimmer of the Week (Jan. 13).
Ishimaru has amassed 52 total top-three finishes in his UIC career. In 2014, he set personal bests at the Horizon League Championships for the 100 fly (48.46), 200 fly (1:47.95) and 200 IM (1:50.86).
Ishimaru will be a senior and is currently enrolled as a Psychology major. The standout swimmer looks to collect his second Horizon League individual title during the 2015-16 campaign.
