Steve McClain was hired as the 11th head men's basketball coach in program history on March 23, 2015. During the spring months, McClain added seven newcomers to the roster and three members to his coaching staff.

The full 2015-16 squad began summer workouts on June 15 and UICFlames.com will feature members of the program each week leading up to the start of the season. This week's video features freshman guard Michael Kolawole.



KOLAWOLE'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Averaged 22.4 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game as a senior at Rowlett High School in Texas
- Two-time District MVP and beat out Ohio State-signee Austin Grandstaff for the honor last season
- Earned All-State Honorable Mention and All-Regional laurels
- Played with fellow 2015-16 signee Hassan Thomas as a member of the AAU Dallas Mustangs
