Steve McClain was hired as the 11th head men's basketball coach in program history on March 23, 2015. During the spring months, McClain added seven newcomers to the roster and three members to his coaching staff.

The full 2015-16 squad began summer workouts on June 15 and UICFlames.com will feature members of the program each week leading up to the start of the season. This week's video features freshman forward Dikembe Dixson.



DIXSON'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Ranked as the No. 43 small forward in the nation and the No. 4 player coming out of Kentucky
- Received interest from top programs such as Alabama, DePaul, Mississippi State, Tennessee, UNLV and Wake Forest
- Averaged 21.8 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.8 steals as a senior and was nominated to play in the McDonald's All-American Games
- Helped Mingo Central reach the state tournament for the first time in school history
