Steve McClain was hired as the 11th head men's basketball coach in program history on March 23, 2015. During the spring months, McClain added seven newcomers to the roster and three members to his coaching staff.

The full 2015-16 squad began summer workouts on June 15 and UICFlames.com will feature members of the program each week leading up to the start of the season. This week's video features freshman guard Drew Hackett.



HACKETT'S HIGHLIGHTS
- Munster High School's career leader in points (1,429), made field goals (448), made three-pointers (157), made free throws (376), free throw percentage (80.0).
- Selected Hoosier Basketball Magazine First-Team All-State, IBCA All-State, McDonald's All-American nominee and AP High Honorable Mention as a senior.
- No. 48 ranked player in Indiana as a senior.
- Scored a school-record 51 points against East Chicago Central in the championship game of the East Chicago Sectional.
