MILWAUKEE – The UIC women's volleyball team took a 3-0 (18-25,18-25, 25-27) loss to Horizon League-foe Milwaukee Saturday afternoon at UWM's Klotsche center. The loss was the Flames' first on the road of the season.

Kelsie Groot contributed both offensively and defensively, registering double digits in both kills (12) and digs (13). Senior
Alyssa Ehrhardt added 11 kills, while junior Kyisha hunt contributed eight terminations of her own.
Milwaukee dominated game one, and pulled out to a 17-10 lead and never looked back. With the score set at 23-17, a kill from Ehrhardt gave UIC its final point before a termination from Milwaukee's Bridge Wallenberger and a UIC error gave the Panthers all they needed to go up 1-0.
The Flames pulled out to a 16-14 lead in the second set, but Milwaukee pushed back to tie the score at 17. UWM went up 19-17 following a service ace and UIC attack error. Â A kill from Ehrhardt put UIC within one, but Milwaukee responded with five-straight points to take game two with a 2-0 lead.
UIC pulled out to a 12-4 lead early on, and was ahead 21-14 before Milwaukee started to chip away at the lead. UWM came within four (22-18) when a kill from
Kaylin Powell put the Flames up 23-18. Milwaukee responded with three unanswered points to come within two, 23-21. Groot took a feed from
Nicole Johnson for UIC's 24th point, but UWM Struck again with four straight to take its first lead of the game25-24. A Milwaukee error tied the set at 25, but the Panthers buried two in a row for the comeback win, 27-25.
The Flames will take a break from Horizon League action by hosting Eastern Illinois on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Flames Athletic Center.
