CHICAGO – The UIC men's soccer team (5-6-3, 3-2-1 HL) gets set for a rivalry matchup at Flames Field when Valparaiso (8-3-3, 3-1-2 HL) comes to town Saturday night for a 7 p.m. CT kickoff. The game will additionally serve as the Flames annual scarf night, with the first 400 UIC students with a valid I-card receiving a free soccer scarf.

UIC was narrowly edged, 1-0, in its most recent match on the road at Cleveland State (Oct. 15). It was the first time the Flames had not scored a goal since Sept. 17 as they put up 19 shots with
Max Todd tying his career high on nine attempts. The loss moved UIC into a tie for fifth place in the Horizon League standings with three games remaining.

Valparaiso heads into the match after taking a 2-0 non-conference win at Fort Wayne (Oct. 18). It has gone 0-1-1 against its last two conference opponents, Milwaukee and Green Bay, while its wins have been over Belmont, Cleveland State and Oakland.

Isaiah Madrid owns a team-high seven goals, four assists, 42 shots and 22 shots on goal to rank within the top five in the Horizon League in each category. The Crusaders collectively rank fifth in shots (180), second in goals (21), fourth in assists (15) and second in fewest goals against (15).

Nico Campbell has controlled the goal all season while making 41 saves, earning four shutouts and one shared shutout, and posting a 1.06 GAA, which ranks second among other conference goalkeepers.
