CHICAGO – The UIC men's soccer team (7-6-3, 5-2-1 HL) will look to lock in the No. 2 seed for the Horizon League Tournament when it concludes the regular season against reigning tournament champion Oakland (5-10-0, 4-4-0 HL) in Rochester, Mich. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. CT at the OU Soccer Field.

Last weekend (Oct. 29), the Flames capped their home slate by taking a 2-0 win over Belmont for their fifth Horizon League shutout of the season, the most since 2007. They turned out the most shots in a game since 2006 with 32 while they held the Bruins to the fewest attempts for an opponent since 2008 with one.

Oscar Gonzalez.

UIC paces the Horizon League with 266 shots this season and has taken 160 of those attempts in conference play. The Flames additionally rank fourth in goals (21) and assists (19), while 11 of their tallies and helpers have been against league opponents.

Todd leads the UIC offense and ranks in the top three in the Horizon League in shots (59), shots on goal (27), goals (7), assists (6) and points (20). He is equally as good in conference games with 39 shots, three goals and four assists.
Jose Fuentes has also been a difference maker this season as three of his five goals have been in league play and he is the only other player to have more than 10 shots on goal with 17.

Andrew Putna has allowed just one goal in the last four games as he boasts a conference-high six shutouts and has made 42 saves this season to garner a 1.15 goals-against-average, good for third among other keepers. He has collected five of his clean sheets in league play, where he has made 17 saves and posted the conference's second-best GAA of 0.42 with three goals allowed.

Oakland carries a three-game losing streak into competition while it has lost six of its last seven games. It ranks sixth in the conference standings after posting wins over Northern Kentucky, Green Bay, Detroit Mercy and Milwaukee.

Chase Jabbori has led the scoring drive for the Golden Grizzlies with a team-high five goals and three in league play. Austin Ricci and Nebojsa Popovic have each added three assists and lead the team with 63 and 40 shots, respectively, as they have put a combined 36 attempts on goal. More than half of Ricci's shots have come against conference opponents as he leads the Horizon League with 41 attempts.

Zach Walker (2.21 GAA) and Liam McQueenie (1.14 GAA) have split the starts in goal this season as they have each earned one shutout and combined for 49 saves. McQueenie has collected the most minutes against conference opponents as he has made 19 saves and garnered a 1.17 GAA.

The all-time series between UIC and Oakland is evenly split at 2-2-2 while the Flames are 2-0-1 since the Golden Grizzlies joined the Horizon League in 2013. Last season, UIC posted a 1-0 win in overtime at home.
