CHICAGO - The UIC women's tennis team (6-4) defeated Bulter (1-18) by a final score of 6-1 on Saturday afternoon at XS Tennis to close out its seven-match homestand.

Jackie Altansarnai started the afternoon off on a strong note, taking down Bailey Padgett 6-3, 6-7 (4), 6-4 at the No. 1 spot. Ann-Sophie Hahn followed in the No. 2 spot with another victory, 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 over Konstantina Adami.

Oana Manole was victorious in the No. 3 position, defeating Kailey Eaton 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Melika LeBlanc fell against Rachel Sutton 2-6, 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 as the Flames only loss on the afternoon.

Rachel Le Comber blanked opponent Michelle McFerran 6-0, 6-0, while Bianca Zuzu brought down Callie Schmit 6-2, 6-3.

UIC swept all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point, starting with Manole and Le Comber at No. 1 defeating Padgett and Adami 6-4. Hahn and LeBlanc bested Eaten and Jocelyn Koester by the same score in the No. 2 spot, 6-4. Altansarnai and Zuzu dominated McFerran and Jordan Minnick 6-1 at No. 3.

The Flames will face Saint Louis on Tuesday, March 22 at The Clubs at River City in Peoria, Ill.
