ANN ARBOR, Mich.- On the eve of the 2016 Horizon League Championship, UIC junior Carl Hedstrom was named to the All-Horizon League First Team, the conference announced Thursday, April 8th. Selected by the Horizon League's coaches, this is the first Horizon League honor for the Djursholm, Sweden native.
Hedstrom has collected a total of eight wins in dual play during the 2015-16 campaign, all of which have come while at the No. 1 spot. In doubles play, he owns seven victories while teamed up alongside senior Nate Campanile at the No. 2 position; the duo is 7-5 overall this season.
Hedstrom will make his push along with the Flames in the first round of the Horizon League Championship on Friday as No. 5 UIC is set to take on No.3 Northern Kentucky at 2 p.m. CT at the Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor, Mich.
