CHICAGO – UIC head women's soccer coach
Brian Rigby announced on Wednesday that the Flames have added transfer
Anna Brusco to the roster for the 2016 campaign. After sitting out as a redshirt at Florida Atlantic in 2014, Brusco will begin her tenure with the Flames as a redshirt sophomore.
"Anna is a fantastic addition to our program," said Rigby. "She is a player who excels in wide areas and has the experience and soccer understanding to be very effective for us in that area of the field. Anna can play on both sides of the ball, which will give us another great tactical option in our system of play. She is very energetic and and is very personable and will quickly fit into our team's dynamic and chemistry."
An Osprey, Fla., native, Brusco joins a group of seven newcomers for UIC's third competitive season as
Morgan Carey,
Tamae Douglas,
Tara Khayam,
Cassidy Privett,
Alex Salgado,
Madison Smith and
Emily Valentine begin their campaigns as freshmen.
The Flames will collectively hull a roster of 27 after bringing back 19 letterwinners with three seniors, 11 juniors, four sophomores and a redshirt freshman.
