CHICAGO -- UIC begins a quick two-game road trip through its home state on Tuesday night, Dec. 19, when the Flames travel down to Normal, Ill., where they will take on the Illinois State Redbirds in a nonconference clash.

The Flames have won two of their last three games following a convincing victory over the Dartmouth Big Green on Friday, Dec. 15. UIC shot nearly 50 percent from the floor with a season-high 32 field goals to cruise to a 76-60 victory. The Flames turned it over only 11 times in the game to match a season low with only two of the miscues coming in the second half.
The Redbirds snapped a brief two-game skid on Saturday afternoon with an impressive overtime victory at Ole Miss. ISU had three of its starters foul out in the second half, but the squad outlasted the Rebels in the extra session to win 101-97.
Milik Yarborough, one of the players to be disqualified for the Redbirds, scored 25 points and added 10 rebounds and eight assists in only 27 minutes of action Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
- UIC shot nearly 50 percent from the floor and matched a season low with 11 turnovers, including only two in the second half, in a 76-60 victory over Dartmouth.
- Three UIC players scored in double figures, led by Dikembe Dixson's game-high 19 points.
- Another sophomore, Jordan Blount, dished out a career-high 10 assists, which marked the highest single-game total for any UIC player this season. He also added a personal-best four steals in the win.
INVOLVING EVERYONE
- In four of UIC's 10 games this season every player has scored at least one point, including in three of the last four contests.
- The Flames first accomplished the feat vs. Fort Wayne, and again at Loyola, against UW-Parkside and versus Dartmouth last time out.
- Head coach Steve McClain has used nine players in all four occurrences this season.
BETTER ON THE BOARDS
- UIC was outrebounded in six of its first seven games before recently reversing the trend.
- After being outgained on the glass by an average of 2.8 rebounds per game over the first seven, the Flames' average rebounding margin for the last three contests is +7.3.
- Four players - Tai Odiase, Clint Robinson, Jordan Blount and Godwin Boahen - average at least four rebounds per game for UIC.
- The Flames set a program record with 1,426 rebounds last season, ranking 18th in the NCAA with 39.61 rebounds per game.
BLOCK PARTY
- As a team, UIC leads the Horizon League and ranks fourth nationally with 7.0 blocks per game.
- Louisville is the NCAA leader through games of Dec. 16 with 8.5 blocks per game.
- Michigan State (8.1) and Minnesota (7.5) also rank ahead of the Flames.
- On Dec. 6 against UW-Parkside, UIC matched a high in the Steve McClain era for the third time with 12 blocks.
- UIC also had 10 blocks vs. Delaware State (Nov. 16) and seven at No. 8 Kentucky (Nov. 26), at Troy (Nov. 29) and at Loyola (Dec. 2).
