UIC Closes Home Slate Tuesday Against Green Bay

Flames aim for eighth win in Horizon League Play

CHICAGO -- UIC returns home on Tuesday, Feb. 21, when it will finish a busy stretch of three games in a five-day span and host the Green Bay Phoenix at 7 p.m. CT. The game will be televised live on Comcast SportsNet Chicago Plus and stream on ESPN3.

Tuesday's tilt, which is the final home game at the UIC Pavilion this season, will mark the second time in 20 days that the Flames and Phoenix will meet on the hardwood. In the first meeting at Green Bay's Resch Center on Feb. 2, UIC rang up 11 3-pointers and five different players scores in double figures, but the Phoenix prevailed, 84-80. Dominique Matthews came off the bench and tallied 22 points, which was a career high at the time. K.J. Santos also posted 17, which was a career high for him until he scored 19 at Milwaukee two days later. For a full recap of the first meeting, please click here.

The Flames are back in Chicago after splitting a pair of games in Michigan over the weekend. UIC used 12 blocks and 10 3-pointers to topple Detroit Mercy, 74-69, on Feb. 17. Tarkus Ferguson sank a career-high four 3-pointers as he netted 20 points, including 10 in the final 4:45 of the contest. For a look back at the Flames' victory in the Motor City, please click here.

UIC drilled 12 more 3-pointers and Tai Odiase registered his sixth double-double of the season on Sunday at Oakland, but the Golden Grizzlies prevailed, 87-75. Odiase led the squad with 16 points and he hauled down a career-high 14 rebounds at OU. For the recap of UIC's last game, please click here.

Green Bay is 2-2 since knocking off the Flames on Feb. 2. The Phoenix dropped first-place Valparaiso on Feb. 4, before falling in back-to-back road games at Northern Kentucky and Wright State. Linc Darner's squad bounced back in a big way to knock off in-state rival Milwaukee on Saturday, 80-56.
