CHICAGO – The UIC women's gymnastics team will hit the road one final time to battle No. 9 Oregon State on Saturday at 4 p.m. CT. The dual meet will be the Flames' final competition before hosting the Midwest Independent Conference Championships on Saturday, March 18.

UIC put together its highest team score since March 14, 2014 Tuesday evening to take second against Western Michigan and Ball State. The Flames compiled a 195.175 team score with team-highs on bars (48.975) and vault (48.800) to earn its second victory against a Big Ten opponent this season.

Entering the regular-season finale, UIC is ranked third overall in MIC standings with a team Regional Qualifying Score (RQS) of 193.385. The Flames continue their reign on bars across the Conference, with a team RQS of 48.705 to own the top spot. UIC also holds the number three spot in the MIC on vault, owning a 48.395 RQS.

Sophomore Mikailla Northern continues to dominate in all-around competition for the Flames after matching her career-high 39.325 total Tuesday at Western Michigan. The St. Louis, Mo. native has compiled four-straight all-around titles, each totaling 39.000 or greater.

Northern's all-around RQS of 38.920 puts her at number two in MIC all-around standings, and tenth in the South Central Region.  Northern also ranks third in the Conference on vault (9.800), seventh on bars (9.725), ninth on floor (9.790) and tenth on beam (9.725).

Redshirt junior Riley Cholod currently holds second in the MIC bars rankings with an RQS of 9.785, while sophomore Jenna Squillo also makes the bars standings in a three-way-tie for ninth (9.735).

Oregon State is also coming off their highest-team score of the season following its 197.325-196.450 victory over No. 14 Washington on Sunday. The Beavers broke the 197-point barrier for the second-consecutive meet for the first time since the 2013 season while tying the eighth-highest team score in the program's history.
