NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The UIC women's tennis team (9-4) capped its stay in the Music City by shutting down Butler (4-13) in a 4-0 final Sunday morning at Huston-Marsh-Griffith Tennis Center to conclude the weekend with a perfect 2-0 sweep.

The Flames took the doubles point for the third straight match. The tandem of
Georgie Sanders and
Stefana Vasic first took a 6-1 win at No. 3 before the Bulldogs took No. 2 over
Oana Manole and
Miranda Rodriguez Diaz de Leon, 6-4. The deciding match at No. 1 went to the tiebreaker with
Melika LeBlanc and
Rachel Le Comber coming out on top in a 7-6 (0) final.

UIC went on into singles to make quick work of its opponents in straight sets. Le Comber first came away with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 over Kailey Eaton and Vasic followed with a 6-4, 6-0 victory against Jordan Minnick at No. 6. The match was then decided at No. 5 as Rodriguez Diaz de Leon took out Carla O'Byrne, 6-2, 6-1.

The top three singles matches featuring Manole (No. 1), Sanders (No. 2) and LeBlanc (No. 3) all went unfinished.

The Flames will now prepare to get the Horizon League season underway as they are set to travel to Ohio next weekend to face reigning champion Youngstown State on Friday at 5 p.m. CT and Cleveland State on Saturday at 1 p.m.
