CHICAGO, Ill. – The UIC women's tennis team (16-5, 7-1 HL) honored
Oana Manole on Senior Day by sweeping Detroit Mercy (9-11, 5-3 HL) Saturday in a 7-0 final at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts for the team's sixth straight win and second-consecutive shutout.

The 16 wins on the year mark the most since the 2012-13 campaign, the last time the Flames won the Horizon League Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.

Doubles was decided in the Flames' favor as they clinched with wins at No. 1 and No. 3.
Melika LeBlanc and
Rachel Le Comber won their 11th of the year at the top spot after claiming a 6-4 decision, as
Miranda Rodriguez Diaz de Leon and
Stefana Vasic secured the first point in a 6-4 final at No. 3. Manole and
Bianca Zuzu had their match at No. 2 go unfinished.

Le Comber got singles started by claiming her ninth straight win at No. 5 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Pauline Van Herck. UIC had three more straight set wins as LeBlanc took down Iris Thioux, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 3,
Georgie Sanders defeated Marie Maitrot, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 2 and Rodriguez Diaz de Leon bested Ksenia Providokhina, 6-0, 6-4, at No. 6.

Manole was able to work back from dropping her second set as she outlasted Anna Davydova, 6-4, 3-6, 11-9, at No. 1. The final victory of the afternoon came at No. 4 as Zuzu responded from a first-set loss to take the 3-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory over Nynke Van Der Goot.

The Flames will play their final regular season match Sunday back at the Flames Outdoor Tennis Courts as they host Oakland at 10 a.m. CT.
