11/23/2018 10:09:00 AM

CHICAGO -- Following a six-day break from competition, the UIC Flames will spring back into action on Saturday, Nov. 24, when they host the Parkside Rangers at 3:12 p.m. inside Credit Union 1 Arena. This is the second-straight season that the Rangers are visiting Chicago in nonconference action.

The unique start time is a tribute to UIC's intimate ties to the City of Chicago and the area code for telephone numbers on campus.

OPENING TIP
  • UIC concludes its three-game homestand at Credit Union 1 Arena with a visit from the Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers.
  • It will be the second consecutive season that the Rangers will make the short trip to Chicago. UIC won last season's contest on December 6, 76-48.
  • UIC blocked nine shots last time out against Bradley, matching the cumulative total for the previous four games combined.
  • Junior Tarkus Ferguson has secured two double-doubles in UIC's last three games, both with points and assists.
A WIN VS. PARKSIDE WOULD GIVE UIC...
  • A three-game winning streak and three straight wins for the first time since the first three games of the 2018 CIT (Saint Francis, Austin Peay and Liberty).
  • A 2-0 record on Saturdays this season.
  • Back-to-back wins against the Rangers, which would even the all-time series at 2-2.
GOING THE DISTANCE
  • Against Duquesne and William & Mary, UIC played consecutive overtime games for the first time since 2006 (Feb. 22 [at Cleveland State] and Feb. 25 [vs. Wright State]).
  • The win over William & Mary was the first overtime triumph since Feb. 4, 2017 at Milwaukee. It was the first at home since Jan. 30, 2016 against Cleveland State.
  • Steve McClain is 4-5 in overtime at UIC.
RISE AND FIRE
  • The Flames rank 17th in the NCAA with 11.0 3-point field goals per game this season and 29th with 55 3-pointers made.

  • Tarkus Ferguson ranks 15th nationally with 20 3-pointers made this season.
  • Ferguson matched career highs from downtown at Radford and vs. W&M (5).
  • 46.8 percent of the squad's total field-goal attempts this season have come from downtown. That ranks 38th in the country according to KenPom.com.
  • UIC made 40 3-pointers in three games against Radford, Duquesne and William & Mary, including a season-high 14 at Duquesne. That was one shy of the best total in the Steve McClain era, and three off the program record.
MINUTE MEN
