CHICAGO -- UIC will look for its fifth win in six chances at Credit Union 1 Arena Monday night, December 14, when the Flames welcome the University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals to the Windy City for a nonconference clash. UIC's 4-1 record at home is the best five-game stretch to open a season on campus under head coach
Steve McClain.
UIC (4-7) has not played at home since thrashing Illinois State by 19 points on December 5.
Jordan Blount posted a career-high 27 points,
Tarkus Ferguson recorded a triple-double and the Flames never trailed against their in-state rivals. Since taking down ISU, UIC has fallen in tough road tests at Colorado and DePaul.
UIW (5-6) will be hitting the floor for the first time since December 9 on Monday night. The Cardinals are seeking their second win of the season against a Division I opponent as they open up a two-game swing through Chicago with stops at UIC and DePaul (Dec. 19). UIW shares another common opponent with the Flames, having taken on Saint Francis (IL) on Nov. 9 and cruising to a 63-49 victory.
It's the first-ever meeting between the Flames (4-7) and Cardinals (5-6). UIW, a member of the Southland Conference, has never faced an opponent from the Horizon League.
Tickets are available by calling 312-413-UIC1 (8421) or visiting
Ticketmaster. Monday's matchup will be broadcast live on
ESPN+. Jonathan Hood and Chris Bleck will call all of the action at 7 p.m. CT.
