KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The UIC women's gymnastics team took on Western Michigan in a rematch Tuesday evening and came out victorious.The Flames took down the Broncos with a 195.475 team score, their highest of the season, while the home team tabbed a 195.275.
"It was a great win tonight against a second-match opponent," co-head coach
Peter Jansson said. "We scored a season-high team score and had fantastic performances straight through. We couldn't be more proud of the girls."
Rotation 1- Bars
- Toni Alicke and Serena Baker each notched a 9.850 to tie for first place on bars, tying a personal-best for each gymnast.
- Riley Cholod grabbed fourth with a 9.800, while Katie Snyder brought in a 9.750 on the event.
- The Flames outscored the Broncos 48.975-48.800 on the apparatus.
Rotation 2 – Vault
- Mikailla Northern took home the vault crown with a 9.875, a career-high. Riley Mahoney also scored a career-high with a 9.825 to finish fourth.
- Katie Snyder kept the personal-bests coming with a 9.800 to tie for fifth.
- The Flames tallied a season team high 48.875 on the event, but were narrowly edged by the Broncos' 48.975.
Rotation 3 – Floor
Rotation 4 – Beam
- The final rotation proved to be the difference maker, as the Flames outscored WMU 48.875-48.275.
- Toni Alike and Daniela Maciel tied once again, this time in second, recording a 9.875 apiece. That score was also good for a career high for both gymnasts.
- Mikailla Northern tied her personal-high of 9.825 to come in fourth, while Kayla Baddeley followed in fifth with a 9.775.
All-Around
- Mikailla Northern was the Flames' sole all-around competitor, taking second with a 39.025
- Northern's all-around total was her fourth of 39.000 or greater this season, and third-consecutive performance surpassing the 39.000 mark.

- The Flames will return to Chicago for their final meet before the MIC Championships by welcoming New Hampshire to the UIC Pavilion on Sunday, March 18 at 2 p.m. CT.
- Sunday's meet will also serve as Senior Day, with seniors Riley Cholod and Katie Snyder set to be honored.
