The Flames (20-15), which has won nine consecutive games away from home, went on the road and toppled Liberty on Wednesday night, 67-51. UIC stifled LU and forced the home Flames to shoot 33.3 percent from the field in the game and to just 51 points. That was the lowest output against the visiting Flames by a Division I opponent this season. Four players scored in double figures for UIC, led by

Northern Colorado (25-12) hammered Sam Houston State in its semifinal Wednesday night, 99-80. Guard Andre Spight, the team's leading scorer at 22.5 points per game, dropped 40 for the third time in the season.

- UIC is playing for a postseason tournament championship for the first time in program history.
- The Flames are 5-1 over the last two years in postseason tournament games.

ON THE DEFENSIVE
- Foes are shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 26.3 percent from downtown in three CIT victories. Two of the three opponents (SFU & Liberty) were held to 33.3 percent or lower.
- UIC leads the Horizon League in field goal percentage defense with the opposition shooting only 40.5 percent against the Flames in all games this season.
- During the regular season, UIC held five straight opponents to a FG% of 37.3 percent or lower between Jan. 27-Feb. 8 (5-0).
ROAD WARRIORS
- UIC has won nine consecutive road games for the first time in program history. The streak started with a comeback win at IUPUI on Jan. 4 and continued with victories at Youngstown State, Cleveland State, Milwaukee, Oakland, Detroit Mercy, Green Bay, Austin Peay and Liberty.
- Three times during the streak UIC trailed at the half (IUPUI, Green Bay, Austin Peay).
- The Flames last won seven straight road games between Jan. 26-March 9, 2004.
- UIC's 18-point victory at Milwaukee on Jan. 29 was the largest in a road game under head coach Steve McClain. The Flames also downed Liberty by 16 points on Wednesday night.
MAGNIFICENT MARGINS
- In the 20 wins this season, the Flames have topped opponents by an average of 15.4 points per game. UIC won 12 League games by an average of 11.2 points per game.
- The 23-point margin of victory over Saint Francis on March 14 was the largest in UIC's postseason history (12 games).
- The 18-point margin of victory at Milwaukee on Jan. 29 was the largest in a true road game under game under head coach Steve McClain.
- UIC's 40-point victory over Delaware State on Nov. 16 (95-55) marked the largest margin of victory in the McClain era.
