Flames Win Second Straight Match, 6-1

UIC Improves to 2-1 in Horizon League Play

The UIC men's tennis team won its second straight match Saturday night, 6-1 over Northern Kentucky at XS Tennis.  The Flames improve to 2-1 in Horizon League play after what head coach Hans Neufeld called "our best singles effort" of the season.

  • Nanni got the Flames started off right in the singles competition.  He made quick work of NKU's #4 player, 6-2, 6-0.
  • Wale had a similarly dominant performance on the #6 court, taking a 6-1, 6-2 match.
  • Dib played a solid match at #3 and clinched the team win for UIC, 6-2, 6-3.
  • Wasilewicz put a halt to a personal three match losing streak with a win in the #1 flight, 6-4, 6-4.
  • Panchapakesan became the third Flame to put together an undefeated weekend with a 5-7, 6-1, 10-6 win at #5.
  • Northern Kentucky salvaged a point and avoided the shutout with a 6-3, 7-6 (5) win over Hedstrom on the #2 court.
