Flames' Winning Streak Ends in Green Bay

Flames Fall for the First Time in Four Matches

The UIC men's tennis team had its three match winning streak halted at Green Bay Thursday afternoon.  The Phoenix moved ahead of UIC in the Horizon League standings.  The Flames, with a 3-2 record in league play, are now tied for fourth place with Youngstown State, who will come to town this weekend.

  • Wasilewicz' #2 match was first to finish.  He lost a 6-4, 6-1 decision.
  • The Phoenix moved to within one point of the team win via a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Wale at #6.
  • Nanni helped the Flames momentarily avoid the loss with a 6-3, 6-3 win on the #3 court.
  • Hedstrom lost a tough match at #1, 7-6 (3), 6-3.
  • Dib won his third straight match, 7-6 (3), 6-3, in the #4 flight.
  • Panchapakesan won the first set at #5 but succumbed in three sets, 1-6, 6-4, 6-2.
