Flames Fall to Cleveland State

Regular Season Ends With 6-1 Loss

UIC closed the regular season with a 6-1 defeat at the hands of regular season co-champion Cleveland State Sunday afternoon.  The Flames got off to a great start by taking the doubles point, but the Vikings swept the singles matches.

  • Dib was a 6-2, 6-1 victim at #4.
  • Nanni gathered momentum in his second set, but it was not enough to fend off CSU's Luke Phillips at #3, 6-1, 6-4.
  • Wasilewicz slid down to the #2 court, where he dropped a 6-3, 6-3 match.
  • Panchapakesan was within two games of winning each set, but could not get over the hump in either one in a 6-4, 7-5 loss.
  • Piotr Lada, playing for the second straight day in the #6 flight, came even closer and forced a second set tiebreaker, but ultimately fell 7-5, 7-6 (3).
