SAN MARINO – UIC rising junior Jordan Blount helped Ireland's Senior Men's National Team win a bronze medal at the 2018 FIBA European Championship for Small Countries in San Marino. The Irish squad knocked off Gibraltar in the third-place game on Sunday, 86-66.

"Nothing can compare to winning a medal with your country," said Blount. "Wearing [Ireland] across your chest means more than you can imagine. I'm beyond happy to have had this experience and for Coach [Steve] McClain and UIC allowing me to do so."

Blount was the team's youngest player and he was making his second appearance with the Senior Men's Team. It was the first medal with that group. During the team's four-game run through the tournament at Serravalle in San Marino, the UIC Flame averaged 8.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game for Ireland.
