BATAVIA, Ohio -- UIC entered the final round of the NKU Fall Classic with history in sight and the Flames posted a number that helped the squad achieve the lowest 54-hole score in program history. UIC shot 31-over par 947 at Elks Run Golf Club to top the previous mark by four shots. It is the second year in a row that the Flames set that team record at the NKU Fall Classic.
"It was exciting to break the 54-hole record once again," said UIC head coach
Mat Blair. "But it's kind of like catching a home-run ball for the other team though. The others team just played really well and we have to find ways to continue to get better.
"I'm really happy with sophomore
Shivani Majmudar," noted Blair. "She had two PRs and showed how hard she worked over the summer and she is very coachable. I;m also really proud of Meghan [Kramp]. Today she birdied her last hole to tie her PR, as well.
"I'm most excited about where we can go from here and what can happen when we tighten some things up," said Blair. "Loyola will be another tough test and we're all looking forward to it next week."
