EVANSTON, Ill. – The UIC women's tennis team was dealt a 7-0 loss to No. 19 Northwestern on Friday in its dual season opener. The Wildcats took all doubles matches for the doubles point, while also taking all six singles matches.
Doubles Highlights
Lucie Prochazkova joined
Karyna Bihel at No. 1 doubles, falling 6-0 to No. 100 Clarisssa Hand and Lee Or. Northwestern's Inci Ogut and Rheeya Doshi defeated
Nell Arendt and
Rachel Le Comber 6-2 from the No. 3 spot, while
Lejla Colic and
Georgie Sanders came up short against Julie Byrne and Hanna McColgan at No. 2, 6-3.
Singles Highlights
Byrne defeated Bihel from the No. 2 position, 6-1, 6-1, while Le Comber fell to Caroline Pozo at No. 6, 6-0, 6-0. Colic contended with Hand at No. 1, losing 6-1, 6-3. Prochazkova was brought down at No. 3, 6-2, 6-0 by Or, followed by Sanders at No. 4, falling 6-2, 6-1 to Ogut. Gulin competed at No. 5, taking a 6-4, 6-2 loss to Doshi.
