Women’s Tennis Heads to Wisconsin for Pair of Matches

Flames will face Wisconsin on Friday, Colorado State on Saturday

CHICAGO – The UIC women's tennis team (1-1) will head north this weekend to take on Wisconsin (0-0) and Colorado State (0-0). The Flames and Badgers will square off on Friday, Jan. 25 at 5 p.m. CT before battling the Rams on Saturday, Jan. 26 at 11 a.m. Both matches will be played at Wisconsin's Nielsen Tennis Stadium.

UIC opened up the dual season with city rival No. 19 Northwestern on Friday, Jan. 18 and was dealt a 7-0 loss. The top-ranked Wildcats took all doubles matches for the doubles point, while also taking all six singles matches in straight sets.

The Flames are facing their second-straight Big Ten opponent in Wisconsin, facing the Badgers for the first time since 2014. Wisconsin owns the advantage all-time, taking six of the seven meetings between the two teams.

Colorado State kicks off its dual season against UIC, and is looking to improve on an 11-12 showing last dual season. Saturday's match will be just the third meeting all-time between the Flames and Rams, and first since 2006.

The Flames look ahead to face Illinois State on the road on Friday, Feb. 2 at 11 a.m. CT.
